As a Mechanical and Thermal Engineer part of xxx Space team in Luxembourg, you will be working on the design, manufacturing, testing and validation of our free space optical communication terminal product (CYCLOPS), in interaction with the rest of the team.
The CYCLOPS transceiver offers compact, secured, high bandwidth communications to Space actors, expanding drastically their information exchange capabilities around the Earth and beyond. This versatile system enables both, inter- satellite and space-to-ground laser communication.

At least 5 years of professional experience in Mechanical and Thermal engineering is needed. Complementary experience in aerospace, product development, AIT, lab work, prototyping and testing are strong advantages for the job.

Role

- Design, analyse, procure, assemble, and test the structure and mechanisms for CYCLOPS. Components include opto-mechanical parts and assemblies, optical payloads, telescopes...
- Develop mechanical and thermal requirements for CYCLOPS.
- Perform mechanical and thermal analysis of the CYCLOPS terminal.
- Integrate parts in CYCLOPS by working closely with the rest of the team, and document and develop procedures to improve the build process in the future.
- Support the testing and validation activities of the terminal.
- Preparation of the documentation for design reviews.

Métier / domaine de formation:
Must have
- At least 5 years of professional experience in the relevant field
- Mastery of mechanical CAD
- Experience with both Mechanical and Thermal FEA
- Experience in manufacturing and testing mechanical and thermal assemblies
- Master’s degree/PhD in any relevant field, or equivalent
- English proficiency
- Experience in both working independently and as part of a team
- The willingness to participate in a start-up adventure
- The willingness to learn new skills
- Highly organized and capable of planning and guiding complex technical work
- Strong oral and written communication skills
